This novel was not what I expected and ultimately not my type of book, but once I start a story I like to finish it. This doesn't mean The Storyteller is not a good book or that other readers won't love it. I rate it a 3 out of 5 Stars because I feel like a 2 wouldn't be fair based on the fact that it's not the kind of story I like to read. One thing that bothered me was the way in which the author jumped between three different, yet connected stories, at times prolonging one particular story to the point where I forgot what was going on in the other two stories. I applaud the author on the research that went into this book and how she brought together all of the pieces at the end. There were also some very solid lines in the book that really caught my attention and drove home real-life meaning. If you enjoy reading fiction pertaining to the holocaust, you might enjoy this novel.
